Grilled Chicken Wings with Tamarind Chipotle Barbecue Sauce

When you think of a Super Bowl spread, one of the first things that come to mind is probably a plate full of wings. All juicy skin and tender dark meat, chicken wings are the perfect vehicle for just about any sauce you can imagine.

In addition to their role as a classic game-day delicacy, wings are one of the most versatile snacks around. From tequila-marinated to curry paste-smothered, there are almost infinite ways to enjoy the humble chicken wing. Try one of these nine recipes that go beyond traditional Buffalo sauce for Super Bowl Party excellence. (I mean, we love a good Buffalo wing as much as anyone, but here in the West, cayenne is not the only spice!)

The recipes here reference various corners of the world, from sesame-studded pan-Asian Honey-Sesame Grilled Chicken Wings to Margarita Chicken Wings, marinated in honest-to-god tequila, triple sec, and lime. Sample wings flavored with tamarindagrodolce, or Thai spices. Then sit back on your couch and enjoy that most American of rituals: Eating way too many tasty, savory chicken wings while watching funny commercials cheering on the two teams vying to bring home the Lombardi trophy.
