No one is traveling much lately, but it won’t always be this way. We’ll all take vacations and business trips again, and when we do, we’ll need a good hotel to stay in.

Unfortunately, not everyone in the travel industry can wait until vacationers return. But there is a way to help them through layoffs and score a deal for yourself, as well.

The Ace Hotel brand is selling gift cards good toward future stays at Ace properties including those in Palm Springs, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Portland. If you buy now, you will receive a discount of up to 20%, depending on the price tier of your card. You can get a card that covers $100 of the cost of a future stay for $90, for example; and a $1,000 gift card for $800. (Yes, you can use it yourself!)

That’s good enough news, but furloughed Ace Hotel employees benefit, as well. Fully 100% of the proceeds from the first $100,000 worth of cards sold go directly to the Ace Family Fund. This money will go to help support idled employees at temporarily shuttered properties. Once the $100,000 goal is met, 25% of purchases will go into the fund.

You have a discounted vacation to look forward to, and service-industry workers get a lifeline. Sounds like a win-win to us.
