Thomas J. Story

One of my favorite things about my job as a home editor here at Sunset is constantly being introduced to amazing artists and makers that are leading the pack. From minimalist wall art and beautiful home linens to my new favorite card game, check out (and follow!) these cool artists and makers that are currently on my radar.

Lolly Lolly Ceramics

Lolly Lolly’s shop is closed right now after a huge wave of demand in the recent months to support black artists and brands, and it’s easy to see why the shop got so much love. Artist Lalese Stamps creates beautiful and surprising ceramic mugs and pieces that stand out from the crowd in so many ways, from cool mugs to minimalist fruit bowls. Check out the Lolly Lolly pieces on Instagram, and if you’re interested in shopping her future works, sign up for her newsletter.

Cindy Zell

Woven art has been trending for a while, but Cindy Zell’s handmade sculptures and wall art feel refreshing in the sea of options. She uses mindfully-sourced materials to create her sculptures and wall decor, with pieces including ceramic, wood, stone, and natural fibers. Her minimalist ethos makes her work eye-catching and unique, with style to enjoy for years to come.

Black Pepper Paperie Co.

More Videos From Sunset

Black Pepper Paperie Co. is a mixed-media studio created by designer and maker Hadiya Williams. The shop specializes in creating one-of-a-kind handcrafted pieces that draw inspiration from West African art, modern western design, and ancestral memory. Her range of pieces include home decor, wearable ceramic art, paper goods, and apparel.

La Botica Candles

Candles are a personal obsession of mine, and one of the newest additions to my collection is the candles of La Botica. The luxury candle brand comes in both mini and regular sizes, with a range of thoughtfully created scents.

Linoto

Love linen bedding? Look no further than Linoto. The 100% linen brand makes a gorgeous range of linens for the home, from bedroom and bath to kitchen and dining. Made in the USA, the color range alone will keep me coming back to shop.

Elan Byrd

Multidisciplinary artist and textile designer Elan Byrd’s work is possibly some of my favorite of all time. While she has a background in fashion, she’s brought her love of textiles and decor together with her handmade art pieces. Influenced by ancient civilizations and their use of materials and woven textiles, her pieces echo both ancient methods and modern aesthetic.

YOWIE

The home and lifestyle shop YOWIE curates small collections from independent artists and designers. The shop’s founder, Shannon Maldonado, also offers consulting services in the realm of prop styling and interior design, making her and YOWIE great inspiration sources for decor.

Actually Curious

Alright, this one isn’t technically home decor, but it’s a deck of cards you’ll love to leave out. Actually Curious is a thoughtful card game that encourages bringing people closer together with personal questions. They’re great for playing with a partner, with friends, or even for some personal journaling. Plus, the pastel shades and minimalist design will make them a coffee table favorite.
