13 Gorgeous Sinks We’d Love to Wash Our Hands In
Pretend you’re in one of these dreamy baths while you lather up and count down twenty seconds
Green Game
This sage master bathroom is an eye-catching escape in this storybook-inspired home. The master bathroom was treated to Alexandria in Hypatia wallpaper by Grow House Grow, chosen by the designers of ETC.etera. “The lavender background against the existing sage green tile is so joyful to walk into,” Jake Rodehuth-Harrison says. “We matched the color and painted the ceiling the same color.”
Soft Pastels
In this Santa Cruz cottage, the couple experimented away from their usual neutral preferences when it came to color choices and tile. “I love how this bathroom turned out, maybe even more than the master,” says Eva Holbrook, the homeowner and designer.
Rugged Edges
Texture and drama through neutrals is the name of the game for this Lake Tahoe guest house. The designer, Krista Hoffman, added texture to this bathroom with the antique wood and metal box shelf, which she found at a local antiques market. “I’m a big fan of layering antiques and vintage pieces—including unexpected areas like bathrooms,” says Hoffman.
Vanity Dreams
This bold bungalow was designed with color at the forefront, from a bold tile fireplace to a major wallpaper moment in the nursery. The bathroom doesn’t skimp on color, either, making a statement with a deep green vanity against neutral tile and accessories.
Desert Inspiration
The master bedroom of this Joshua Tree home is a perfect slice of the home’s mash-up of Moroccan and Southwest styles. From tadelakt (Moroccan plaster) throughout the bath and the 100-year-old Turkish hammam basin sink, the large window frames the cacti gardens, which have a privacy wall behind them made of saguaro cactus rib.
Majorly Moody
This Venice home takes its moody themes to the next level in the all-black powder room. The small space gets maximum dramatic impact from the black walls, sconces, sink, and decor pieces. “We wanted a moody bathroom moment that would complement the open, white space for the guest bath,” said the design studio Transition State. “We designed the space with clerestory windows that frame two walls so light was still coming in from the exterior, but then went tonal with the paint on the walls, ceiling, tile floor, and concrete vanity. A burnished brass faucet moment rounds out the modern with a touch of vintage experience.”
Extra Polished
Warm minimalism is the theme of this Los Angeles abode, and this off-pool bathroom is certainly a chic take on it. Designer and homeowner Carly Waters made an indoor/outdoor shower for her pool, and designed this sleek vanity to go with it.
Sink With a View
The power punch of this bathroom from our Beverly Hills Idea House is two-fold: the bold rug, and the views into the lush backyard.
Tranquil Retreat
The relaxing main bath of our Los Gatos Idea House gets its edge from the use of limestone, appearing in a herringbone pattern across the floor and in place of traditional baseboards. “Limestone is the unsung hero of natural stones,” says designer Lauren Nelson. “It’s affordable, understated, and beautiful.” An expansive oak vanity is treated to brass and hand-blown glass fixtures
Wallpaper Makeover
The downstairs bathroom of this Lake Arrowhead A-frame was originally the worst in the house, but homeowner Casie Wilson made it her mission to change it from a dungeon to a fun spot, with the help of Anthropologie wallpaper. The once-dark countertops were replaced with leftover terrazzo from the kitchen, and brass finishing touches complete the vanity. “A room I originally cringed going into, is now one of my favorite spaces,” says Wilson.
Mirror Play
The designer duo of Colossus Mfg. created a fun twist on the master bath at their gorgeous Scottsdale home by playing with mirrors. Using three mirrors with gold trim—two slim matching ones over each sink, and one large round one in the middle—made for a vintage-glam twist on the standard single bathroom vanity.
Suite Retreat
In the master suite of this Seattle home, the bathroom is a thoughtful retreat that connects to the rest of the home thanks to the use of similar materials, like Douglas fir wood. “A small bump-out allowed for the inclusion of a soaking tub under the picture window,” says designer Andy Beers. “Consistency in materials reinforces this room’s relationship with the rest of the remodel.”
Shower Statement
While washing your hands in the master bath of this Los Angeles beach bungalow, all you’d be looking at is that shower tile. Designer Natalie Myers used cement tile to create this bathroom statement wall.
