A new hotel and restaurant set the perfect mood

Red is the official color of Valentine’s Day, so take a hue cue this month for a red rock rendezvous at Arizona’s newly opened Sedona Rouge Hotel & Spa. A serene oasis in the middle of Sedona’s bustling west side, the boutique hotel has an African/Mediterranean design, with a central fountain, carved stone columns, and iron grillwork. Rooms offer lipstick red headboards, fluffy down bedding, and private balconies or patios. Keep the cuddle factor going with a couples’ massage at the spa followed by dinner at the hotel’s Reds Restaurant ($$$; breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily). End the evening with a nightcap on the third-floor deck, from which you can gaze at starry skies and the moonlit outline of nearby Thunder Mountain.
