A more bitter aperitif, Bruto Americano takes after Campari with its gentian root base, California Seville orange aftertaste, and woody notes. The Captain Americano cocktail balances Bruto Americano with sweet vermouth for a strong evening drink.

How to Make It

In a highball glass, pour ice, 1 1/2 oz. Bruto Americano, 1 oz. sweet vermouth, 2 oz. club soda, and stir.

For a garnish, squeeze an orange peel and drop in the glass.
