One of our favorite aspects of developing Idea Houses each year is getting to know the many talented designers who pull it all together. We recruit some of the most impressive young talents in the business to fill the rooms with comfortable, innovative, stop-you-in-your-tracks interior design.

Looking back at the Manhattan Beach house from 2014, we’re still blown away by the work of David John Dick and Krista Shrock of DISC interiors. Their design firm was only three years old at the time, and this over 4,000-square-foot house with soaring ceilings was a massive undertaking.

Today, DISC is a force in the Los Angeles interiors community, and their many talents are on display in their book, Portraits of Home (Rizzoli), which was released this month. Take a behind the scenes look at their process in this video tour with David and Krista, and check out the multitude of genius ideas in the home here and here, which look as fresh today as they did seven years ago.
