Place a glass cloche over freshly planted seedlings or tender plants to create a portable mini greenhouse. Cloches (“bells” in French ) add a touch of fancy whimsy to a winter garden—much prettier than a floating row cover or plastic milk jugs. Remove cloches on sunny days to prevent overheating.
