This year, little kiwi fruit are a big deal at Hurst’s Berry Farm in Sheridan, Oregon (www.hursts-berry.com). That is, the crop of miniature kiwi fruit is big enough to attract attention. Each grape-size fruit makes a single bite, and its thin, red-green skin is smooth – no more peeling.
Baby kiwi fruit are harvested from mid-September to late October, but you may find them in markets into November. Healthy fruit keep well in containers in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
