A spur-of-the-moment road trip along the Mendocino Coast is just one of the many perks that comes with living in California.

This weekend getaway starts off at Bowling Ball Beach in Point Arena, where you can see rows of spherical rocks if you catch the low tide. Leave Point Arena and drive along the ocean until you arrive at Greenwood State Beach, where you can lay your head at Harbor House Inn.

Continue trekking along the redwood tree-lined Route 128 until you arrive at the charming town of Mendocino, and a short while later, Russian Gulch State Park. Finally, make your way to Laguna Point and relax at the beach.
