Smoky Halloween Colada

Mezcal gives this creamy take on the pinã colada a smoky backbone. Pebble ice, which you can get from some supermarkets, is ideal, but you can also use crushed ice.

How to Make It

First, make the Black Lava Salt Mix: Mix the Hawaiian black lava salt and the sugar, and pour on a saucer or small plate.

Wet half the rim of a tiki or hurricane glass with lime wedge and dip into Black Lava Salt mixture.

Pour grenadine directly into the bottom of the glass.

Combine mezcal, lime and pineapple juices, cream of coconut, and ginger syrup into a tin shaker. Add ice, shake vigorously, and strain into glass.

Add pebble or crushed ice, making sure to fill to the top, creating a dome-like shape. Garnish with citrus wheel. 


Ingredients

Black Lava Salt Mix
 ¾ cup Hawaiian black lava salt
 ¼ cup sugar
Cocktail
 1 lime wedge
 Black Lava Salt Mix
 ½ fl oz grenadine
 2 fl oz Casamigos mezcal
 ¾ fl oz fresh lime juice
 ¾ fl oz fresh pineapple juice
 ¾ fl oz cream of coconut
 ¾ fl oz Liber & Co. ginger syrup
 Dehydrated orange or other citrus wheel, for garnish
