After buying this Spanish Revival residence in Los Angeles last year, home decor designer Nate Berkus has remodeled the entire home and placed it on the market. Tour the revamped look and unique touches he's added throughout the five-bedroom, five-bathroom home on the Sunset Strip.
The remodel embraces an open and airy aesthetic, starting with the kitchen, which now has modern finishes like the marble countertops, and organic touches like the wood-and-steel bar stools.
Living room: Before
The original living room had art-deco vibes with bright hardwood, but looked dated.
Living room: After
Now, the living room embraces the natural light coming in on all sides with soft, matching tones from the flooring to wall decor.
Guest room: Before
One of the many bedrooms in the home, the size and style of the decor made the room feel too small for the furniture and oversized headboard.
Guest room: After
Now, this bedroom has an open, organic style that feels calming and welcoming, with soft pieces like the wooden ladder and woven chair.
Master bedroom: Before
In opposite form from the guest bedroom, the four-poster bed in the master felt like an island floating in a too-large room.
Master bedroom: After
Now, the furniture choices tie the entire room together into a unified space. The plush rug makes for a perfect transition piece between the new four-poster bed and couch area.
The previous deck featured green flooring below bright yellow walls, creating a dark and overly contrasted look.
Now, the interior and exterior colors match in soft whites, beiges, and light browns, making the home feel like one seamlessly flowing space inside and out.
The yellow and green palette continued to the full exterior of the home, dating it to passersby and visitors.
Now, the backyard feels bigger than ever with a softer exterior color and new touches like more greenery and matching ground tile to open up the real estate around the pool.
