Seattle locals do have a bad habit of turning up their noses at people who order, say, a tall skinny split-shot latte with half a shot of vanilla. And, an open letter to bartenders: We’re sick of hearing, “If you don’t like brown liquor, you’re in the wrong place.” If the lady wants a cosmo, give her a cosmo. But we’re not The New York Times’ Western mistress—Portland is—and for that reason, the chefs here may work just a little harder.
