This moderate 4-mile (round-trip) trail makes for an ideal hike. A fairly well-trodden path spans the boulder-strewn, pine-lined Granite Chief Wilderness near Alpine Meadows. By the time you reach the first, and largest, of the alpine lakes, you’ll be dying for a quick dip.
