Walnut-Caramel Tart

Walnuts ― a year-round staple in healthy pantries all over the West ― can turn a dessert into a showpiece worthy of a pastry shop case. We often make good use of these rich and pleasantly bitter nuts as a tiny addition to granolas, salads, quick breads, and cookies. But when you make walnuts the main focus of a tart, the effect is grand. This would make an irresistible dessert for Valentine's Day.
