Sunset’s December Covers, from 1914 to 2014

It’s the month of celebration.

Thanksgiving in November is just the start of holiday parties on top of holiday parties on top of holiday parties. Then, suddenly, it’s New Years. And so, that time of year is here. As everyone knows, magazines publish several weeks ahead of the game to give you ample time to prepare. As you might imagine, the Sunset archives are filled with recipes, gift guides and suggestions for hosting out-of-town family. Some of this advice is outdated and some of it still applies today. But no matter the case, our December covers have always been admirable. Here they are, from 1914 to 2014, one for every ten years (only because I didn’t have the capacity to scan 100 covers).

Pick up our December issue from this year if you haven’t already and get planning. And for now, revel in holidays past.
