Using seasonal, local, organic produce coupled with nuts and seeds, raw food advocate Ani Phyo creates delicious recipes that lower cholesterol, aid in weight loss, and boost the immune system—all while promoting a healthy planet. Phyo is the author of four popular cookbooks: Ani's Raw Food Asia, Ani's Raw Food Essentials, Ani's Raw Food Desserts, and Ani's Raw Food Kitchen, which won Gourmand World Cookbook Award’s ‘Best Vegetarian Cookbook, USA’ in 2007. Her 60-minute instructional DVD, Let’s Get Started, comes with every purchase of Vitamix's TurboBlend VS.

Phyo hosts the popular Ani's Raw Food Kitchen Show on YouTube, and has also appeared on the Travel Channel's Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern, ABC’s View From the Bay, and NBC’s LX New York. She has been featured in Food & Wine, Food Network, Oxygen, VegNews, Delicious Living, and Vegetarian Times magazines. She was voted “Sexiest Raw Woman” and “Favorite Cookbook” in 2008, 2009, and 2010 by the Best of Raw Awards.

In honor of her work teaching at-risk Los Angeles youth how to garden and make food, Phyo appears in warrior headdress on billboards and bus stops around Southern California as part of Sambazon’s Warriors of Change campaign.
