Now You Can Amazon Prime Your Whole Foods Groceries
Rolling out this year, you can get Whole Foods groceries delivered in two hours with an Amazon Prime membership
Move over, Instacart. Last week, Amazon announced Phase 1 of a high-speed grocery delivery service for Whole Foods, which it acquired last summer.
Following the acquisition, Amazon has brought changes to the high-end grocer’s 460+ stores, immediately issuing price cuts on popular products like eggs and avocados, and selling gadgets like the Kindle and Echo smart speakers at Whole Foods stores. Now, the e-commerce giant is offering free, two-hour grocery delivery to Prime members.
Shoppers can browse products from Whole Foods’ 365, along with other favorite brands, on Amazon Fresh, the company’s preexisting grocery delivery service.
Though Whole Foods delivery is currently available in just four cities (Cincinnati, Austin, Dallas, and Virginia Beach), Amazon plans to expand to other cities across the country in the coming year.
Until then, you can order your Whole Foods faves on Instacart, which will continue to deliver for the grocery store (albeit, for a fee) even after Amazon rolls out the service nationwide.
