San Mateo County History Museum
The San Mateo County History Museum is situated within the County’s 113 year “Old” Courthouse, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is located in downtown Redwood City on the town’s recently improved Courthouse Square. The Museum is only two blocks from a Caltrain station and is only a few blocks off of U.S. Highway 101. The 40,000 square-foot building includes eight permanent exhibit galleries and two changing galleries. The Museum explores the San Francisco Peninsula’s History from the times of the Ohlone Indians through to today’s Silicon Valley entrepreneurs.
