Richmond, British Columbia

Located just outside of Vancouver, Richmond is the ultimate hidden gem for travelers to explore British Columbia. Home to one of the largest Chinese populations in North America, Richmond is a hub of authentic Asian culinary experiences, from mom-and-pop shops like HK BBQ Master to fine dining experiences at Baan Lao; a dumpling trail, which allows visitors to snack at 14 eateries along a self-guided tour of some of the best dumplings in the Pacific Northwest; and the Richmond Night Market, which is North America’s largest night market. The waterfront destination is also a prime spot for whale watching and wildlife viewings in the quaint seaside fishing village of Steveson. Much of this area was declared a heritage zone in 1960, which accounts for the warm, old-timey vibe of this working fishing village, where visitors can buy fresh seafood right off the dock.
