Portland Japanese Garden

Now celebrating 60 years, Portland Japanese Garden was designed in 1963 and encompasses 12 tranquil acres with eight separate garden styles. The landscape includes an authentic Japanese Tea House, intimate walkways, and a spectacular view of Mt. Hood. Established by Portland leaders to reestablish ties with Japan in the years following World War II, the Garden has been praised as the most beautiful and authentic Japanese garden in the world outside of Japan by many dignitaries from Japan.
