Desolation Hotel is an eco-luxury micro-resort located in the scenic alpine beauty of South Lake Tahoe that opened in August 2022. Its 21 luxury accommodations—built to capture the spirit of Japanese tranquility and modern Scandinavian design—all include soaking tubs on their private balconies, indoor fireplaces, Frette linens and robes, and kitchenettes featuring Bertazzoni gas ranges. The hotel also features private beach access, a saltwater pool and Velma’s pool bar, jacuzzi, Port Orford Cedar sauna and cold shower plunge, Peloton-studded fitness center, and the third-floor restaurant and bar Maggie’s.
