Glacier Lookout is a replica 1930’s USFS fire lookout, that sits 3,600 feet above the Valdez Glacier. With 360-degree mountain views, you can see more glaciers than found in Glacier National Park, all from inside Glacier Lookout. It’s truly a unique off the grid experience for those looking to recharge by disconnecting, getting back to nature and stepping back in time. Guided and unguided stays are available for ultimate solitude, though it’s not uncommon for Tolkien, the resident mountain goat, to stop by. Summit West Peak, rock climb, stroll through the alpine, catch the northern lights, see the milky way with true dark skies, or just stay inside reading a book by the fire. Many people have left Glacier Lookout stating they feel inspired with a new perspective on life.
