The Rocky Mountaineer, which operates luxury routes both in Canada and in the American Southwest, is adding an exciting new route to its offerings next year, and is also rebranding a popular train ride. Now called the Canyon Spirit, the new three-day Rockies to the Red Rocks Extension rail journey will begin operating on April 21, 2026, and will travel weekly with one westbound departure from Denver and one eastbound departure from Salt Lake City.

A journey on Canyon Spirit will include overnight stops in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, and Moab, Utah, adding onto the existing two-day Rockies to Red Rocks route that already exists between Denver and Moab. The additional day will see travelers traverse the mountain passes of eastern Utah and the open vistas of the Great Basin, while connecting to the urban hub of Salt Lake City.
