Heading to Mexico City? You’ll want to add the neighboring city of Puebla to your must-visit list.

Just two hours away from Mexico City, Puebla is known for its outstanding architecture and cuisine. The fourth-largest city in Mexico and capital of the eponymous Mexican state, its downtown is home to thousands of of historic sites. The city’s spiked in searches on Airbnb, scoring it a spot on their Destinations to Visit in 2019 list.

Pubela is renowned for its historic churches and cathedrals—locals say there are 365, one for every day of the year. Don’t miss the famed colonial Puebla Cathedral, or the 16th-century Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios that looks over the city.
