Geek Out“Remember that movie Honey, I Shrunk the Kids? Imagine a bunch of young Rick Moranis types getting together to show off their inventions.” That’s how my boyfriend pitched Maker Faire to me—and that about sums it up. “Part science fair, part county fair,” as the website describes it, Maker is a two-day fest of techies, crafters, and hobbyists in San Mateo, CA, about 25 miles south of San Francisco. Get a sneak peak of it here—or check it out for yourself this weekend (May 16 & 17). Tickets are still available online. See you there!

CampSeattle Magazine releases its picks for “The Best Places to Camp in the Northwest,” from Cascades National Park to Mount Rainier.

PackFind your next favorite bag in our roundup of the best new made-in-the-West luggage.

Eat“Is this restaurant a destination, a place I would travel to just for the pleasure of dining there?” All the great eateries on The San Francisco Chronicle‘s list of the Top 100 San Francisco restaurants of 2015—out this week—meet that high bar, set by restaurant critic Michael Bauer.

Drink & DanceThis weekend, live Americana, roots, and bluegrass music get paired with craft beers and wines at the Roots and Vines Fest, an annual concert series in Yakima, Washington.
