Just in time for the long Labor Day weekend (hooray!), here are our 5 favorite travel finds of the week.

Feel the burnDidn’t make it to Burning Man this year? Neither did I, but reading return attendee (and Sunset Deputy Travel Editor) Peter Fish’s account is the next best thing.

GawkI’ve spent a lot of time lately looking at cabins—often daydreaming and procrastinating, sometimes doing research for work—and that led me to what is perhaps the coolest abode of all time: the so-called Dr. Seuss House, near Willow, Alaska. Have you seen this thing? Wow.

SwoonVintage travel posters from “flying’s golden age”—yes, please. The New York Times has a slideshow of images from Matthias C. Hühne’s new book on the topic.

Get handsyThis year’s L.A. County Fair (Sep 4 – 27) will feature a brand new attraction in Pomona called Popnology. The hands-on exhibit will showcase “how pop culture has impacted technology at every turn: from the Batmobile and Mars Rovers to interactive robots.” You had me at Batmobile.

Dance all dayTickets are still available for Seattle’s seminal Bumbershoot music festival (Sep 5 – 7). This year’s lineup includes Hozier, The Weekend, Cake, and Faith No More.
