Sustainable seafood? Yep. Michelin-starred chef ? Uh-huh. Artisanal cocktails? Check. Housemade sodas with flavors like bacon and lavender? How very on trend. Bayside location on Sausalito’s Bridgeway … huh, what? Yes, you read that right. The boulevard of A+ views and D– food now has a surprisingly good waterfront restaurant: Barrel House Tavern. Sure, the name’s a bit generic–though the ceiling of the warm, woody-retro dining room is, in fact, barrel-shaped–but the kitchen’s turning out the likes of crab sliders with watermelon-jicama slaw, bone marrow with escargot, and cashew and tofu curry with haricots verts. And everything arrives on Heath plates, made in Sausalito.
