This Marilyn Monroe-Themed Bungalow Lets You Experience Beverly Hills Her Way

For the chance to live like a classic Hollywood icon like Marilyn Monroe or Howard Hughes, you need to stay in two newly renovated bungalows at the Beverly Hills hotel.

Already famous for its bungalows–including other celebrity-inspired ones decked out in honor of Elizabeth Taylor and Frank Sinatra–the Beverly Hills Hotel’s two latest accommodations, unveiled in January, are truly special additions.

Designed by internationally renowned Champalimaud, the Marilyn Monroe and Howard Hughes suites incorporate different aspects of each star’s life, including famous movie roles, favorite treats, and themed services.

Guests staying in the Marilyn Monroe bungalow will be able to enjoy luxurious services to feel fully immersed in Monroe’s Southern California lifestyle. The bungalow is decorated with curvy furniture, bright and abstract floor coverings, colorful travertine stone, and gold-leafed ceilings to give it a feminine, youthful, and sophisticated feel–just like Marilyn herself.

Among the many services and amenities include a CHANEL N°5 fragrance bar and bath amenities, a library featuring classic Marilyn Monroe films and books, and a Marilyn Monroe Champagne Bath Bubble Experience featuring a Some Like it Hot bubble bath (including an indulgent bubble bath, bath pillow, wood back brush, bath mitt, and a bottle of Dom Perignon).

On the menu are meals that Marilyn would order: a prawn cocktail, heirloom carrot salad, DiMaggio’s spaghetti and meatballs, grilled New York steak, and an ice cream sundae.

Howard Hughes himself was a frequent guest at the Beverly Hills Hotel, so guests staying in his themed bungalow will enjoy feeling like a mysterious billionaire. The suite employs bold, stormy colors, dark stones, and rich exotic woods, as well as art-deco inspired decor, leather furniture, a collection of model airplanes, and blue bedroom walls.

Of course, no billionaire bungalow is complete without the amenities. Guests can enjoy an Aviation Cocktail Kit featuring Aviation Gin, Crème Yvette liqueur, lemon juice, and Maraschino Liqueur paired with mini roast beef sandwiches. (Hughes requested the hotel leave roast beef sandwiches under a tree outside his bungalow each night.)

“We look forward to providing our guests with an enhanced experience that will lovingly highlight the bungalows’ unique features and legendary history with Hollywood and the Beverly Hills community,” said general manager Edward A. Mady, in a press release.

A total of 21 bungalows will be restored at the hotel, with five representing stars and legends from Hollywood’s past. The last suite, dedicated to Charlie Chaplin, will debut in July 2019.
