There’s a hundred and four days of summer vacation, and Phineas and Ferb fans now have a good way to spend it: spotting Perry the Platypus at Disneyland. That’s right: Agent P is making a special appearance at California Adventure, but only “for a limited time.”
Nexstar reporter Scott Gustin first shared the news on Twitter, and he later explained that Perry will only be at the park on Saturdays. A primarily silent character, the platypus pet disguised as a secret agent for the OWCA (voiced by Dee Bradley Baker) quickly became a fan favorite when the show premiered back in 2007. Viewers might remember seeing him transform into Agent P whenever he donned his signature fedora.
Perry, Phineas, and Ferb have been on-site since mid-May to promote the upcoming fifth season of the beloved animated series. The titular characters have also arrived at Disney World’s EPCOT in Orlando, Florida.
A nostalgic show for those of us who grew up in the early aughts and 2010s, the three-time Emmy-winning series ran for four seasons until June 2015. It’s been a whopping 10 years since they’ve appeared on our screens, and now, the dynamic stepbrother duo and their platypus pal are back with 40 new episodes.
“We’re starting back in where we left off,” co-creator Dan Povenmire, who also voices Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz in the show, told TheWrap. “Our hope is that if people were to watch the fourth season and then continued into Season 5, that you wouldn’t even feel a bump. The energy may be a little elevated since we’re all so excited to come back.”
The first two episodes of the highly anticipated fifth season air Thursday, June 5 on Disney Channel and Disney XD, and the first 10 drop Friday, June 6 on Disney+.
