Bodie State Historic Park near Bridgeport, California, hasn’t changed since 1877.

A gold-mining town of 10,000 in its heydey, it’s now in a state of “arrested decay,” which sounds much, much more terrifying than anything you’ll see today (save maybe the hordes of bowtie-sporting, wannabe rappers doing Halloween Gangnam-style).
