This classic cocktail is a citrus-forward delight with a hint of absinthe to awaken your senses. It’s the perfect pick-me-up for brunch or a sophisticated start to an evening.

How to Make It

Combine the gin, Lillet Blanc, lemon juice, and Cointreau in a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker with ice.

Shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds to chill and aerate the mixture.

Strain the cocktail into a coupe glass.

Lightly spray or drip Pernod absinthe over the surface of the cocktail.

Garnish with a single star anise floating in the center of the glass.

Ingredients

 ¾ oz Hendrick’s gin
 ¾ oz Lillet Blanc
 ¾ oz fresh lemon juice
 ¾ oz Cointreau
 a splash (1/8 tsp) of Pernod absinthe
 star anise, for garnish

Directions
