“The West is a leader in innovation, so it was really important for us to embrace Facebook and Twitter as new and exciting channels for communicating with our readers,” said Katie Tamony, Sunset’s editor-in-chief.
Sunset approached social media with the same level of creativity and innovation it brings to the magazine, coming up with a variety of fun ideas to engage its audience, such as trivia and virtual scavenger hunts. Sunset is also encouraging fans to submit blog ideas, post their favorite recipes, and share their weekend plans.
“It’s great to share some of our best Sunset.com ideas in bite-sized updates,” continued Katie Tamony. “It’s also wonderful for our followers to know that we’re available as a resource to them. We love the one-on-one interaction these technologies provide.”
