These Multi-Tools from Leatherman Shine Under Any Circumstance
From a multitasking tool that does it all to a pint-sized gadget that fits in your purse, there’s a Leatherman for every scenario.

Leatherman, first founded in Portland in 1983, started with a pretty simple idea: create a capable, easily portable hand tool with multiple functions. Now, they’ve got a cadre of multi-tools on the market, which can admittedly be daunting to decipher, even if you’re a gear head. I’ve long been a stan for the Skeletool CX, an ingeniously designed, lightweight, super comfortable, incredibly versatile super tool that everyone should have in their arsenal. From hanging art in my new apartment to screwing in a surfboard fin and crafting campfire meals out in the field, the Skeletool CX does it all.
But recently the Signal and Micra have rounded out my collection, making sure that no matter where I go and what level of adventure I’m pursuing, I’m prepared. Here’s where each member of the Leatherman family shines.
The Go-Bag Go-Getter: Signal

Thomas J. Story
For outdoor enthusiasts and folks who want to keep their go-bag going strong, this multi-tool with 19 unique functions readies you for the unexpected with its fire-starting ferro rod, a saw that you can use to cut wood for said fire, and even an emergency whistle. There’s a wrench at the base, and of course, the carabiner doubles as a bottle opener. You can even anchor your tent stakes with the built-in hammer. And all of that comes in a compact package that doesn’t weigh a ton. It’s basically a replacement for your tool kit! Plus, it’s customizable—you can add art to the blade and pick from some gorgeous bespoke color palettes, making it the perfect gift for Father’s Day or graduation.
The Powerhouse Tool: Skeletool CX

Leatherman
I first came across the Skeletool CX on set when I used to work in production. I noticed all the camera operators and grips had the same handy Leatherman clipped into their pockets, and it’s easy to see why. The Skeletool CX does it all and it comes in a lightweight, easy-to-carry package. The premium 154CM stainless steel straight-edge blade has a great balance of corrosion resistance and toughness, plus it’s great for prepping campfire meals. But, of course, it’s more than just a knife. The pliers, bit driver, and wire cutters will come in handy more often than you expect. The CX really is everything you need and nothing you don’t.
The Little Multi That Could: Micra

Leatherman
This one fits easily onto a key ring or in a pocket or purse. At less than 2 ounces and 2 inches in length, this tiny little Leatherman packs ten useful tools in 1 easy-to-carry package. There are all the essentials like a knife and screwdriver, but the real sleeper hit is the set of tweezers. It’s the most affordable of the bunch and great for gifting as a gateway for first-time users who might not be familiar with the world of multi-tools.
