Proceeds go to organizations helping those impacted by the L.A. wildfires.

The Los Angeles wildfires have ravaged the city, destroying homes, businesses, schools, and community hubs. The losses are enormous and immeasurable, and the recovery will take years. But if we’ve learned anything from this tragedy, it’s that Los Angeles is resilient and people (Angelenos and those from other cities and states alike) are more than willing to roll up their sleeves and help others.
Sunset is producing a limited line of apparel and accessories to raise funds for organizations having a meaningful impact on the L.A. fires recovery efforts. We’ve printed these pieces with the iconic bear that graced the sheet music for the official state song “I Love You California.” All profits go to charity.

Sunset
Written in 1913 by Canadian immigrant Francis Silverwood (the owner of Silverwood’s Clothing Store in Downtown L.A.) and composed by Abraham Frankenstein (the director of the Orpheum Theater Orchestra), the song celebrates the state’s natural wonders and landmarks. According to the State of California Capitol Museum, while the song was under copyright, proceeds from the sale of the song went to charitable organizations. It was designated the state song in 1951, and given statutory recognition in 1988 after the copyright expired.

Sunset
The song and its iconic illustration are reminders of how fortunate we are as Californians to live in a beautiful state. As an L.A.-based team, Sunset editors are standing with our fellow Angelenos. We know the spirit of Western determination and resilience will get us through these dark days.
