Here are a few ways to make your home ready to enjoy the some of the best parts of the summer season.

Despite the cold summers in San Francisco, the Regan Baker Design team has outdoor lounging, summer entertaining, and sangrias on our mind. And, maybe some heat lamps, too!

1. Create an Outdoor Living Room

One of our favorite things about summer is spending more time at home on the rooftop, in the backyard, or on the patio. The design of outdoor spaces is just as important and personal as your indoor spaces. Styling your outdoors with comfortable, weather-resistant furnishings can help create an inviting space to lounge with a book, or host a BBQ with family and friends. We love playful seating options that make a statement, such as the Maia egg swing chairs from Kettal. For those chilly, summer nights, add a heat lamp to make your space more cozy, and allows you to enjoy fresh air longer.

2. Bring the Outdoors Into Your Home

Fresh plants and summer blooms bring a fun and lively energy to a home, especially when they have good plant parents! They’ll brighten your mood and change the tone of any room. Succulents can also make a beautiful centerpiece for a summer dining table.

3. Lean Into the Summer Motifs

Playing up the summer motifs in your home through accessories is an easy way to style and brighten your home for the season. This can be as simple as adding a gold pineapple cocktail shaker to the bar, or swapping out your throws and pillows with bright colors and patterns. You can also consider displaying some beachside photography, whether they’re photos from a vacation, or from a popular beach photographer like Gray Malin.
