Romance is definitely in the air in this Palm Springs house that’s currently on the market. Newlyweds Elvis and Priscilla Presley famously leased the home in 1967—so it became known to the public as “The Elvis Honeymoon Hideaway Home.”

Originally known as The Alexander Residence 1960, the home was designed by modernist architect William Krisel and commissioned by developers and society patrons Robert and Helene Alexander as a personal residence. The home’s unique spaceship-like design was so striking and innovative that Look Magazine called it “The House of Tomorrow” in 1962.

Its current owners, Nancy and Cary Cirillo, followed the honeymoon tradition: They purchased the home in late 2022, eloped, honeymooned in the Bahamas in May 2023, and returned to restore the house as newlyweds. And now they’re putting it up for sale for $9.275 million.

The owners worked with Palm Springs designer Michelle Boudreau to bring the home back to its mid-century glory, preserving historical details and features, while also adding modern amenities. Most of the updates revolved around the interiors—terrazzo flooring was installed, the kitchen was updated with white oak cabinetry and Quartzite counters, and a closet became a sleek marble bar. After the renovation, it received a Class-One historic designation.

“This was our honeymoon house,” says owner Nancy Cirillo. “Cary and I had the opportunity to elevate and take the design aesthetic to a new level—a labor of new love. We were honored to be stewards of the property and now it’s time for a new owner to enjoy this incredible space.”

“The area is seeing strong demand for architecturally significant homes with unique history and character,” explains Compass’s Marc Sanders, who has the listing. “This property played an important role in shaping Palm Springs’ mid-century modern era and was truly ahead of its time. The connection to Elvis adds an extra layer of intrigue, making it a standout home with a fascinating story to tell.”
