chadbourne + doss architects is an award-winning design-focused firm constantly on the hunt for interesting projects and adventurous clients. We take a holistic approach to creating unique environments that are relevant to their place and deeply responsive to our client’s needs and desires. Our work embodies a fascination with the contrasting relationships of everyday life—inside/outside, public/private, technology/nature—through the innovative use of form, materials, and light. Taking on creative projects at all scales; we have a particular interest in work that engages environment, craft, and community. Our designs always push through strong ideas to create beautiful, efficient, and inspiring environments.

We are a small firm with big ideas and the experience and commitment to realize them. We choose to work on fewer projects and make them count – focusing on quality not quantity. Our work has been published and praised for innovation of design and detail. Our Wood Block Residence has won an AIA Honor Award for Washington Architecture (being perhaps the youngest and smallest firm to win our chapter’s highest honor). We are listed in Seattle Magazine’s Top 50 Northwest Architects; and chadbourne + doss architects were included in AIA Seattle’s New Edge / New Blood—an exhibit of “innovative up and coming architects that will shape the future architectural frontier.” Just recently we were included in Forbes top 200 list of best residential architects in the country.
