Spotify’s newest playlist collection was specially curated for plant enthusiasts of any level, from amateur to full obsessive. With the help of a handful of horticulturalists, like Plant Kween and Nelson ZêPequéno (founder of Black Men With Gardens) to name a few, five plant-inspired playlists are designed to keep your greenery alive and thriving.

The spike in plant sales during quarantine revealed exactly how we want to spend time at home when we have more of it, connecting with nature and being surrounded by greenery. In his podcast, Green Gurls Galore, Plant Kween explains how setting aside time in your week to care for your plants gives an opportunity to engage in mindful gardening. “It’s basically utilizing the tending of my own little indoor jungle girl as a means of meditation, grounding myself, and being fully present.”

Nelson ZêPequéno’s playlist, Back to the Garden, is full of lo-fi and ambient beats, with songs like “Hopeless Romantic” by Yusei, “L$D” by A$AP Rocky, and “Plants” by Crumb, for blissed-out monsteras or perky snake plants.

Plant Care by Derryl Cheng takes a different approach, brightening up everybody’s day with “Walking on Sunshine” by Katrina & The Waves, “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac, and “My Girl” by The Temptations. It sets the mood for a sunny Saturday morning watering or a lazy Sunday spent picking ripe cherry tomatoes from the vine.
