Graded on a Curve
According to Modsy’s Director of Style, Alessandra Wood, angular designs are being swapped out for pieces with softer curves. “We’re already seeing curved furniture, such as sofas, armchairs, even beds, and think this is a trend that will be everywhere in 2019,” says Wood.

Classic Whimsy
A specific art trend has caught the eye of Wood — a fresh take on classic art pieces. “We're going to see classical subjects of art presented in a whimsical style,” she says, “creating a modern spin on a once very serious theme.”

Painterly Strokes
Painted texture is another prediction from Modsy, which sees the style jumping off the art canvas and onto textiles. “We’re going to see patterns that reflect the artist’s hand and brushstroke in rugs, pillows, and other textile prints,” says Wood.

Boldly Neutral
Everyone loves a good neutral, but Wood predicts that 2019’s neutrals will lean into the drama. “Think dark neutrals paired with lighters colors to create high-contrast spaces,” she says.

Natural Nature
The jungalow vibes are still going strong into 2019. Wood recommends layering natural textures in your home to get the look. “To add natural textures into your space, think: jute rugs, storage baskets, rattan chairs, and woven wall-hangings.
