Here’s a video for all the hikers out there: A how-to guide on cleaning leather boots that have taken you to places like Yosemite and Hawaii’s Kapalua Coastal Trail. First, remove the laces and insoles from your shoes. Now you’re ready to rinse the boots with water and brush off any big chunks of dirt. Next, use a shoe cleaning solution around the outside of the shoe and rinse the boots again before applying a waterproof treatment to the shoe. Be sure the waterproof treatment is made for your shoe material! Wipe down your shoes and set them to dry in normal temperature and low humidity.
