The city known for boardshorts and flip-flops receives a welcome dose of high style with Little Apple. The shop was opened by Manhattan transplants and sisters Jeanne Ring and Merrie Craig, who realized that San Diego’s Little Italy neighborhood was aching for something more fashion-forward. “When we moved here, it was very obvious that the area was developing quickly and had a more urban vibe than other parts of the city,” Ring says. Inside a space that feels like a SoHo loft, the sisters have curated a deep collection of polished tops, skirts, dresses, and accessories by Southern California brands like Bishop and Young. Says Ring, “We wanted to bring a bit of Big Apple style to the Little Italy of the West.”
