Bi-Rite Market

San Francisco, California

The opening of the new Bi-Rite Market in 2013 was the biggest news to hit Divisadero since the restaurant Nopa put the neighborhood on the map back in 2006. What’s to love about this branch of the Mission District stalwart? The cheese counter, the expanded array of soups and salads and ready-made dinners, and the special Divis-only sandwich, The Giuseppe (salami, mortadella, provolone, red onion, and lemon aioli on an Acme baguette). But more than that, even? You won’t need to fight the mobs at the ice cream counter to get a malted-vanilla cone on a nice day.
