Sustainable seafood? Yep. Michelin-starred chef ? Uh-huh. Artisanal cocktails? Check. Housemade sodas with flavors like bacon and lavender? How very on trend. Bayside location on Sausalito’s Bridgeway ... huh, what? Yes, you read that right. The boulevard of A+ views and D– food now has a surprisingly good waterfront restaurant: Barrel House Tavern. Sure, the name’s a bit generic--though the ceiling of the warm, woody-retro dining room is, in fact, barrel-shaped--but the kitchen’s turning out the likes of crab sliders with watermelon-jicama slaw, bone marrow with escargot, and cashew and tofu curry with haricots verts. And everything arrives on Heath plates, made in Sausalito.
