Your Next Airbnb Booking? At a B&B

Airbnb has partnered with a small property booking platform to offer travelers even more lodging options

Does choosing between holing up in a cozy rental home vs. staying at an authentic bed and breakfast ever befuddle your travel plans?

Airbnb is making the decision easier. The home-sharing platform joined forces earlier this month with SiteMinder, a global hotel-booking platform, that will allow boutique hotels and B&Bs to list their rooms on the Airbnb site.

Though many small hotels have used Airbnb for years to fill vacancies, the initiative will provide more support to these kinds of businesses.

SiteMinder has over 28,000 hotels and properties within its reach, but those interested in participating in the partnership will have to meet Airbnb’s standards. In line with the company’s emphasis on creating personal, authentic travel experiences, they encourage hotels with unique design elements, quality hospitality service, and those that have local flair, whether that means sourcing local ingredients for their restaurant menus or offering personalized recommendations and tours for nearby sights.
