In Silicon Valley you normally see more Teslas stuck in rush hour traffic than Hanoverian mares soaring over a fence. But this week (August 6 through 11) that will change when more than 500 horses and riders from all over the world canter into Atherton, California for the 43rd Annual Menlo Charity Horse Show.

One of the biggest jumping shows in the West, it’s held at the Menlo Circus Club, where they’ll have 3 arenas for competitions like open-field jumping and speed jumping. Plus over 40 vendors will be selling horse-themed jewelry, clothing, and items for the home, garden, and stable. Let your inner National Velvet run free. $10/day; menlohorseshow.com
