Take a Bite out of the West’s Tastiest Museum

New in L.A., a museum devoted to the culinary game changers and rule makers of the West’s vibrant cuisine

Elaine Johnson

The Pacific Food & Beverage Museum, which has hosted talks, seminars, and curated dinner events in Southern California over the past several years, has now opened up permanent shop in a gallery in L.A.’s culturally-rich San Pedro district.

Opening exhibitions include a look at Victorian-era culinary artifacts; a history of the evolution of chef and bartender tattoo culture; and a collection of mixology specimens from the Museum of the American Cocktail. The museum will also feature special events, including demos, tastings, and panel discussions on subjects such as the role of women in the cocktail scene.

Funded and sponsored by the nonprofit National Food & Beverage Foundation, the museum will be open Thursdays through Sundays—the perfect stop before or after a mouth-watering meal.
