Salt with Herbs and Tubes

Courtesy of Stephanie Pavelko
Clear jars or glass test tubes
 3 cups Epsom salt
 1-2 tbsp baking soda
1-2 tbsp organic dried flowers. Roses, lavender, and calendula all work great. (If you’re not drying your own, Pavelko recommends Mountain Rose Herbs.)
 1-2 tbsp dried basil
5-10 drops of essential oil. Pavelko recommends lavender, cardamom, and/or rosemary.
2-4 tbsp of olive oil, which keeps the mixture from clumping.
1

Place half of the herbs and flowers into a food processor or coffee grinder to grind them to a smaller consistency.

2

Pour all the ingredients into a glass bowl and mix well.

3

Spoon the contents into your container of choice.

4

Label the tubes to “add a bit of magic to the experience,” Pavelko says.

If you don’t want a lot of clean up after the bath, use a tea bag, cheesecloth with a rubber band, or a bath strainer when you drain your tub.
