Founder and Director of Building
Nick Damner is a Contractor, tinkerer and avid cyclist who hopes to be the first man to carry his home on the back of his bike. A respected Bay Area Carpenter, Nick has been managing complex commercial and residential building projects for many years. A graduate of the University of Colorado, Boulder, Nick is a licensed contractor in the State of California.
At Modern Cabana, Nick oversees all sourcing, manufacturing and project management activities, including working hand-in-hand with clients to ensure Modern Cabana produces each Cabana exactly as requested.
Founder and Director of Design
Casper Mork-Ulnes Norwegian born, Casper was raised in Norway, Italy, and the United Kingdom. His design philosophy is rooted in this international background and is reflected in his geographically varied portfolio. A profound interest in place and the peculiarities of each site, combined with the use of technologies and materials that are of the moment generate varied and unique designs.
In addition to his responsibilities at Modern Cabana, Casper is also a Founder of MU/D, also in San Francisco. For nearly 10 years, Casper was a Senior Designer at Pfau Architecture. He holds a Masters degree in Architectural Design from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Architecture degree from California College of Art. His designs have been built on three continents.
In his 10+ years of design work, Casper has worked on projects for clients including: BMW, Swatch, Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dominican University, University of the Pacific/McGeorge School of Law and multiple private developers.more
