You Can Now Get Amazon Prime Deliveries Directly into Your Home—or Car

In a pinch? With the Amazon Key Home kit, Prime members can get a seamless (and secure) delivery experience

For the procrastinators among us, Amazon Prime has come to the rescue for last-minute gift buying, lightning-speed grocery delivery, and a host of other online shopping conundrums. Now, they’re making it easier than ever to receive your packages without worrying about missing the delivery man or having boxes stolen from your doorstep. With the recently introduced Amazon Key, Prime members can opt to have packages left inside their homes. All they need is the Amazon Key Home Kit—a three-part system with an HD security camera, compatible smart lock and app that allows you to unlock from afar, watch live video feed of your home, and enable in-home delivery.

You can see how it works here:

As of this week, in-car delivery is available at no extra cost, for on-the-go Prime members with compatible vehicles (for now, 2015 or newer models of Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac, and Volvo, with the potential for other models to be added). After your shipment is ready, authorized drivers will meet you where you are—so long as you’re parked in a publicly accessible area. Once they arrive, Amazon will verify the driver’s location and identity, and unlock your car remotely, through a system that is keyless, convenient, and secure.
